Study findings
The Russian abstract reports a 1.9-fold increase in nighttime urinary 6-sulfatoxymelatonin compared with the pretreatment value. This is a melatonin-metabolite finding, not a measured improvement in sleep architecture.
- Population and setting
- 55 older patients with reduced pineal melatonin function
- Evidence type
- Uncontrolled human report
- Preparation
- Pineamin polypeptide complex
- Source language
- Russian
- Title source
- Title as recorded in the linked source or index. A separate original-language title has not been transcribed unless shown above.
Study limitations
- Randomization and a concurrent placebo group are not established by the abstract.
- The comparison with Epithalamin refers to earlier findings, not an established head-to-head trial.
- No demonstrated REM-sleep, lifespan or healthy-person performance benefit follows from this biomarker.
- Author affiliations include Geropharm; independent confirmation requires assessment.
Publication counts are not counts of independent trials. Reviews, translations and reports sharing participants may overlap. Findings apply to the studied preparation, population and endpoints.
