Hcr ASIC peptide familyПептиды Hcr
What is it?
Research context
Sea-anemone peptides with subtype-specific effects on acid-sensing ion channels. Hcr 1b-4 inhibits ASIC1a while potentiating ASIC3; a stroke application remains a research hypothesis.

Recombinant peptides, expressed rat ASIC channels and molecular modeling
Hcr 1b-4 inhibited ASIC1a but potentiated ASIC3; Hcr 1b-3 inhibited both tested channels.
Limit: Channel pharmacology and modeling do not establish stroke protection. Opposite effects on ASIC subtypes must not be summarized as universal ASIC blockade.
