01 / OVERVIEW

What is it?

Research context

Sea-anemone-derived peptides studied as TRPV1 modulators. APHC3 has mouse stress-behavior and hippocampal plasticity research; results are specific to the tested peptide.

Mouse behavior and hippocampal preparations

APHC3 enhanced hippocampal long-term potentiation in mouse preparations and produced anxiolytic-like effects in acute-stress behavioral tests.

Limit: Mouse and brain-slice experiments, not human anxiety treatment evidence. Intranasal administration does not itself prove brain delivery; peptide levels in brain tissue were not directly quantified.

Outstanding review questions

Appraise original methods and replication; keep animal and cell findings separate from unestablished human benefit and safety.

No human intervention report has been identified among the linked records; unclassified archival leads may remain. Publication records can share participants. Source counts are not trial counts.
