Study findings
Retinal nerve-fiber thickness remained stable within the treated group and declined within controls, but endpoint differences between groups were not significant. Visual acuity and mean deviation did not significantly change; pattern standard deviation worsened in both groups.
- Population and setting
- 147 patients (249 eyes), randomized; 24 months
- Evidence type
- Randomized trial
- Preparation
- Retinalamin tissue-derived preparation
- Source language
- English abstract; original language varies
- Title source
- Title as recorded in the linked source or index. A separate original-language title has not been transcribed unless shown above.
Study limitations
- Within-group significance is not evidence of a between-group treatment effect.
- Blinding and adjustment for two eyes per participant require full-methods review.
Publication counts are not counts of independent trials. Reviews, translations and reports sharing participants may overlap. Findings apply to the studied preparation, population and endpoints.
